Question:

Is there any dua for stopping my parents from fighting and quarreling with each other? I am a student and I live in another state, far away from my parents. Today I got call from my mother saying that they both fought again and she was crying. Please send me a dua so that they both stay together happy. 

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Salam Alaykum

There is no specific dua mentioned in the ahadith for stopping quarrels between the parents; however, you should try to encourage your parents to practice deen and to bring deen into their lives (e.g. reading Quran daily, doing taleem daily etc.), as this will inshallah bring the mercy of Allah in the house. In addition, you can also make the following dua for them, which is mentioned in the Quran:   

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا

Translation:

“My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was a child.” (Quran 17:24)
