Question:
From which age should
a child start eating solid food according to the Quran and Sunnah?
Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The
maximum period of suckling is two years. Unless there is some special reason,
it is the right of the child that this period be completed. Once a child turns
two years old, however, it is not permissible to suckle him. In normal
circumstances, a child should gradually be introduced to solid food some time
before the age of two; so that by the time he reaches the age of two, he can go
completely on solid food. However, if there is a need to introduce him to solid
food even earlier, it will be permissible to do so. وَالْوَالِدَاتُ
