Question:
What is the proper way for me to do qada of my missed salats?
Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
When intending to do qada of salat, you must specify the salat that you are doing qada of. For example, you must make intention that I am doing qada of yesterday's Zuhr salat or Friday's Fajr salat etc. If you have a lot of salats to do qada of, you can make the intention thus: Of all the Zuhr salats that I have to do qada of, I intend doing qada of the last zuhr salat; or, of all the Isha salats that I have to do qada of, I intend doing qada of the first Isha salat.
Keep on doing qada of all the missed prayers in the above manner until you feel satisfied that you have done qada of all the missed prayers. It is compulsory to do qada of all the fard salats (Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha) as well as the witr salat. One can do qada of the missed salats at anytime except at the following times: 1) At the time of sunrise until the sun does not become so bright that one is unable to look at it for some time without difficulty; 2) When the sun reaches its zenith (i.e. zawal time. To be on the safe side, it is recommended that one does not offer any salat 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after zawal time); 3) Before sunset when the rays of the sun become weak until sunset. |
