Salat (prayer)
I have a 14 year old daughter. For a while now, she is refusing to stand up in prayer and/or refusing to pray with the family. Should we be pushing her constantly to pray appropriately or should we just be happy that she is praying at all?
This question is regarding joining prayers in a care home.
I am a female, UK, and I work at a care home for old ladies who are sometimes bed bound and helpless, they need medication at certain times and personal care, personal cleaning and bed pans etc . Often there are emergencies where the old lady suddenly loses ability to walk or they have dementia.
My shift is between 4pm -10pm. With consecutive 30 minute windows between each ladies flat in the building, I do not always have a break. My colleagues are often rushing around and it can be fast paced.
If I manage to find time to pray, it takes me 30 minutes because I have to remove my najasa clothes and wash and then change into clean clothes, make wudu and then go and pray 4 rakats without Quran and then change back into my uniform. The whole place is not clean because they have accidents on their chairs and on their carpet. I am observing proper hijab at work wearing lose clothes, everything including a clean hijab need changing and I cannot be late to any call.
These days I have been joing dhuhr and asr before I go to work and when I come home, I eat, wash and then joining maghrib with isha.
Is this permissible ?
I'm just finishing my period at work. In another three hours is zhuhur salat. I don’t know how I’m going to pray because I have to perform fard ghusl before I’m able to pray. Please guide.
One man gives azaan at home and prays sunnah then he goes to the masjid and gives azaan there as well, he’s a muazzin there. Is it okay for him to do so? What would be the best option for this person? Should he carry on in this manner or should he stop giving azaan in one of the places? His home and masjid are in different suburbs.
Is it allowed to take children to the masjid? Is it safe to take a toddler for Maghrib salat to the masjid? A friend of mine says that jinn roam around Maghrib time and this is dangerous for small children.
Can I appear before my father and brothers while wearing nightie?. I do not wear underwear or shalwar/pants under nightie but it is loose and reaches below knees. Can i pray Fajr salah in nightie?

. What is the origin and ruling of this

?
1] Is there Qada for prayers such as Duha, Ishraak, the sunnan prayers such as dhuhr etc?
2] WIth regards to the Tahiyat al Wudu prayer, does it have to be prayed immediately after wudu or can two rakat for wudu be offered any time after making wudu, even if there are prayers made in between such as Dhuhr? If so, would it be accepted if for example i made 3 performances of tahiyat al wudu at night for making wudu 3 times during the day but was too busy to perform them immediately after making wudu each time?
Essentially what i am asking is, is there qada for tahiyat al wudu or does it have to be prayed immediately after wudu to be accepted?
3] Is making the iqama before appointing the imam to lead the prayer mubah or makruh (or a different Hukm)? (ie - Someone makes the iqama to assemble the jama'a and after theiqama is made, the imam is chosen randomly from someone in the congregation)
4] Im having difficulty understanding how combining intentions works for the sunnahprayers. Specifically, can i combine intentions of tahiyat al wudu with the following: i.Tahajjud ii. Duha iii. The sunnan of dhuhr/asr/maghrib
Is wearing a topi (hat) sunnah or a mere tradition? One person says that it is a mere tradition. He also says that nowhere in the Hanafi Fiqh books is it mentioned that wearing a topi is recommended when praying. Is he correct?
My friend has many qada salah outstanding (around 5 years). He is finding it difficult to complete both his sunnah-e-mukaddah and qada salah. Is it advisable to tell him to leave out performing his sunnah-e-mukaddah until ALL his qada salah has been completed?
He has read (in Durre Manthoor?) that this should not be done (leaving praying sunnah to do qadasalah), but he has also been advised that some ulama say you do not get any reward for performing sunnah salah if you got qada salah outstanding.
1) Is it necessary to wait for commencement of Iqama at the Masjid in the locality, to pray fardhsalah at home individually or salah can be performed immediately after adhaan.
Also is it necessary to wait for adhaan before praying sunnah salah of that particular time,
and can we pray qaza or nafl in between sunnah and fardh salah?
2)Is it necessary to do istinja on secretion of mazi which is just accumulated at the tip of the private part (less then hollow part of palms' diameter), or using tissue will suffice; during travel within the local city (not a mussafir)?
3) To what extent and how much mistakes are tolerable in salah in qiraat since I often repeat certain letters like taw, sow and is sajdah-e-sahuw wajib on loud qiraat of letters or words or wrong pronunciation of takbeer, and the tasbeehat of; sajda, ruku, qiyaam and while rising from ruku?
4) During prayer I have doubts of my chest, slightly moving away from the Qibla, for a moment, but I ignore this, is this approach correct?
5)I read a portion of taleem-ul-haq, downloaded from your site. In wajibaat of salah, it is stated
"8. TA'DEELE ARKAAN, i.e. performing RUKU, SAJDA, etc. with contentment and in a good way" , could you explain?, and if I hasten in salah in some circumstances and if the sajdah-e-sahw is also hastened, then the salah would be invalid?
6)I usually do wudhu at my home in a bathroom. Is it necessary to close the lid of the toilet seat before wudhu, whether the toilet pan contains excretory substances or not?
Does pulling up one's pants during salat invalidate the salat? What is the definition of "amal katheer" (excessive movement)?
1) Does one have to offer salah which was missed before a boy had his first ejaculation?
2) At what time should each of the salah be offered,I mean what time do we offer qaza salah of missed Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha salah missed in the past?
3) If one missed salah when travelling and now is in his hometown, should he offer full salah or qasr?
I am perplexed about my istikhara but have seen some signs regarding my istikhara. For one moment I feel it to be positive and got some signs too on other hand I do it again. I have told my istikhara to my reliable sister and all she said is it’s in your favour. But please suggest to me what are all the signs which are seen during marriage istikhara. I shall be highly obliged to you.
I am a 16 year old boy. Alhamdulillah, I have been praying five times a day since about three or four years ago. Before that I would mostly pray four times a day. Now I know proper rulings of wudu and ghusl but before I did not. I am not sure how many of my prayers have been invalid due to incorrect wudu. As for ghusl, I did not know about ghusl until six or seven months after my first ejaculation. So I assume that for six or seven months, my prayers were invalid. In addition, at the age of ten I did start praying but not very regular at first. In fact until age of thirteen I did not pray Fajr at all, except very rarely. So in this case, how do I make up past salah? Should I pray lots of nafl or what? Especially because I don’t know the number of salah I missed.
Lately, I have not been punctual in my salat. Many times, I do not offer qada of the missed salat also. I feel very guilty about this and want to be punctual in offering the 5 times daily salat. Please give some naseehat (advice) so that I become regular and punctual in offering salat.
Is it permissible for ladies to offer their salat in a ladies congregation (jama'ah)?
Taking children to the masjid. Talking in the masjid.
Can I do istikhara on behalf of someone else?
If someone trims his beard, can we offer our salat behind him? How important is keeping a beard in Islam?
What is the proper way for me to do qada of my missed salats?
If a girl is considering someone for marriage, and she does istikhara, is it necessary for her to see a dream? For instance, a girl has been doing istikhara for 7 nights (and even more), however, does not see a dream/is completely blank related to the new potential (but feels positive about it due circumstances. i.e. seeing the family and the man coming from a good Deeni background)... is this simply a sign that it is good, and one can proceed with the proposal, or should it be that she needs to feel some kind of feeling from within in the form of a dream or something (positive or negative)?
Basically, how does one know whether it is good or worrisome?
My husband and i would like to know that if you make the intention to pray your witr namaaz in tahajjud namaaz and if you happen not to wake up to pray tahajjud namaaz what happens to our witr namaaz? does it become kazaa? what is the protocol around it?
How is witr prayer offered?

Last year in October or so, _________ from _________ changed the timings for summer for Isha based on a different calculation to what the calendar is printed.
I am quite confused and like to understand this topic a bit more because this not only affects the Isha prayer but it also affects the start time of Fajr payer and thus impact the timings for Sahur (Sehri) for fasting as well.
My mother is having problem sitting down. So thats why she prays her salat while sitting on a chair. So while she is praying like this, does she have to stand up for Qayam or she can do it while sitting? and also what are the ruling for Sujood?
Please tell me about ghaib janaza: Did the Prophet (s.a.w.) offer this? If so, how many times and in which situations? Can we offer ghaib janaza?
I am a strong Hanafi follower. However, can i do Raf'ul yadain (raising hands before ruku') in my Nafl Salaat? I want to do it, so I can do this particular sunnat.
If I am praying and a one year old kid comes and sits in the lap while in I'm in the tashahhud position or he holds my leg while I am in the standing position, would this affect the validity of my salat considering that the child most likely has filth in their diaper/nappy?

I went to a mosque for Maghrib while it was raining. As soon as the imam ended the prayer with salam, they called iqamah for Isha even though it was only 8.50. They said that it is ok to combine Isha when it is raining because the musallis cannot come back for Isha. Is it allowed in islam to combine two salaats if it is raining?

If somebody arrives at the masjid while the jamat for fajr prayer is going on, what should he do? Suppose he gets enough time to pray the sunnat prayer and can catch the jamat, what should he do? As far as I know, in this case, he should perform the sunnat prayer then join the jamat. But somebody told me that we should not pray any other prayer while the fardh salat is going on. Please clarify this with some reference. And if somebody missed the sunnat prayer of fajr salah, is he required to pray the sunnat prayer after the jamat? What is the best time to pray that missed sunnat prayer. Jazakallah khair for your effort.

Does sajda tilawah become compulsory when the whole verse is recited or when just a specific word is recited?
If one feels that some of their previous prayers may not have been accepted for reasons such as: praying just before the time expired, or not doing ghusl when one may needed to have done it (due to doubtful mani/mazi issues)... can the person make intention of praying qada for an amount of days to make up for the prayers that they have confusions/doubts about?
And in case, there was no qada left for the person, will the prayers be considered nafl?
JazakAllah Khayr.
I reside in Saudi Arabia. Here after maghrib azan there is around 15 minutes duration before the maghrib salah gets started. However, when I enter the masjid after azan, should I perform 2 rak'ats nafl before the iqama? Somebody told me not to perform salah right before the maghrib salah. Please clarify.
Under normal conditions, is it Sunnah to recite the following Surahs in the Obligatory Prayers as stated:
For Fajr and Zuhr: Al-Hujrat to Al-Burooj
For Asr and Isha: At-Taariq to Al-Bayyinah
For Maghrib: Al-Zilzal to An-Naas
Most of the Imams don't follow this order of Surahs while leading the Prayers.
Let's say someone is travelling on an airplane and the plane is going against time, and therefore the time of the some prayers will be very short. As soon as the time of Maghrib -- for example -- enters, the plane starts landing. If the person wants to offer the salat standing up and facing the Qibla, the crew will not let him, as the seat belt light is on. If the person waits for the plane to land, the time of Maghrib will be over. What should such a person do?
1) Due to day light saving, is it permissible to pray the Juma prayer at the same time as before? The lunch time of workers remains the same, that is from 12pm - 1pm, and now the clock has been turned forward by an hour. Previously Zuhr started at 12.20pm. Is there any exceptions for Juma prayer? Can we still pray Juma at 12.45pm instead of 1.45pm?
2) A group of us pray at work. Is this permissible?

I have three questions related to offering salat while sitting on a chair due to knee problem.
1. Does he perform his salat while in jamaat completely sitting, or does he stand up during Qira’at or ruku? He does not have any problem standing, the only problem is knee bending (sajda or attihiyaatu).
2. Where are the hind legs of the chair placed in jamaat? A) Should the hind legs of the chair be in the same line of other standing persons (upper part of the sitting person are in the same line with other standing musallis), or B) the chair is placed behind the saff (the feet of the sitting person match in the same line with the other persons in the same jamaat)?
3. In jamaat, where does he place his chair in the saff? Anywhere, or only at the end of saffs?
What should a person do if he forgets to recite a Surah after reciting Surah Fatiha in a Fard (compulsory) salat? Will Sajda Sahwu be sufficient in such a case?
After doing Istikhara, a person has a positive feeling or a negative feeling. Does this feeling indicate whether he should go ahead or not?
