I have been noticing that my money is getting stolen from my house I was confused and started blaming my family about it but one day I saw the maid who has been working in our house for more than 7 years stealing the money from my bag I was shocked at that moment and didnt say anything to her but after few days I noticed that some amount has again been stolen from the bag. I called my maid and asked her about it, she got really hyper and started cursing me. I told her that I have seen her stealing money from my bag but she refused to admit and in that chaos I asked her to put her hand on Qur’an and swear that you havent stolen a single amount. I was very hyped at the time that I didnt realised what I was saying. The maid put her hand on the Qur'an and swore falsely. Then she asked me to put my hand on Qur’an and to swear if I have seen her stealing from the bag. I didnt swear on Qur’an as I knew that Qur’an is a holy book and even if I have seen her stealing I didnt do it. Then she started shouting on me and told me that I was lying as I didnt swear by putting hand on Qur’an. She left the job then. Now as I am completely in my senses I am regretting that I shouldnt have bring Quran in the talk. Can you suggest me what should I do?

Does the practice of blowing on water after reading certain duas contradict with the hadith of not blowing into one’s drink or the utensil?

I have a deviated septum ( my nose is bent out of shape). I also have a high dorsal hump. In my youth i experienced a burn mark on the dorsal hump. Which has melted a layer off my skin leaving the dorsal hump very prominent so much so that it sticks out from the front. I would like to know if its permissible to undergo surgery to remove this defect? I would like to mention that this really makes me self conscious therefore whenever I'm in public i like to avoid people because i don't want them pay attention to my dump. A nose is the strongest feature of the face. I don't wish to change the creation of Allah or reduce the size. I just want to make it level with my face by straightening it.

1) Where I live it’s near a small town. It’s not exactly very dangerous although crime is slightly increasing and I think it’s best to keep a dog as a lookout like to keep watch to look after the house etc. although our house has not been burgled nor me or my family been mugged. Is it allowed in this case to keep a dog as a precaution?

2) Also, where I live it’s illegal to keep a dog outside in the front garden even in a doghouse because it’s seen as too intimidating for people who knock on the door. Is it ok to keep the dog in the back garden provided he has a doghouse and has food and water?

3) Is it allowed to take it for a walk as they need to be exercised or would this come under it being as a pet? Also can he pass through the house like go through the back door and he walks through the house to go out the front door so he can go for a walk?

At the moment I am sixteen years of age nearly seven teen. I was asked to go to my friends party, only that alcohol is present. I'm not sure if it is right. Should I go? I am quite strict in my beliefs and would never drink alcohol. A few weeks ago I was questioned by the same friend about alcohol. They asked: “How come as a Muslim you do not drink alcohol, yet you believe in Jesus, a prophet, who made and drank wine?” I know alcohol is haram.

Is it permissible to watch the new year fireworks?

In Islam as you would be well aware of, there are numerous nawafilactions that promise specific rewards for their performance. Examples include TahiyatulWudu and Jannah, reciting surah Mulk every day and being shielded from the punishment of the grave, Tahajjud and Jannah, reciting certain dua daily and receiving specific rewards etc. My question is, what is the MINIMAL amount that these actions need to be performed to qualify for its reward? Is there a minimum threshold that must be achieved in order to be considered amongst those that are performers of this action, eg: Is there a minimum amount of regularity in praying tahajud to be considered amongst that pray tahajjud......

I am in a situation where I am kind to my family but they are not to me. I came across this hadith; however I do not understand. Would you please be able to explain this hadith to me?

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man said to Messenger of Allah (PBUH): "I have relatives with whom I try to keep the ties of relationship but they sever relations with me; and whom I treat kindly but they treat me badly, I am gentle with them but they are rough to me.'' He (PBUH) replied, "If you are as you say, it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and you will be with a supporter against them from Allah as long as you continue to do so". [Muslim]. (from Radiyul saliheen)

It sounds like the man in question is the one doing the wrong thing here if he is the one feeding hot ashes to his family?

I have a concern that I'm not certain or sure of. In the Quran Allah swt has said on many occasions that those who turn in repentance towards their creator for the wrong they do in life surely their creator will forgive them of their wrong doing. The question I have is Allah swt also says that we all will be questioned about our time in this life and it will give account. If we repented for all the sins we committed in life and our creator has forgiven us will we still have to answer for them in front of mankind?

Secondly, when I take islamic newspapers, calendars and other material I do not throw them in recycle bin as I fear there might be words of Allah swt, ayat or hadith and I might become sinful if I throw them, now what is the right way to dispose them off?

We know that pious children are a form of sadaqah jaariyah for the parents. Does this mean that whatever good deed a child does (even after becoming an adult) goes to the parents' accounts regardless of them sending it to the parents' account (i.e. after the parent/s pass away, as a bakshish)?

Or does a child still have to send whatever nawaafil he/she does to the parents' accounts in order for it to be part of the parents' book of good deeds.

An elderly woman has been having to deal with issues regarding her daughter's marriage, which is at stake at the moment, and I am a good friend of this daughter. For some reason this lady is now under the impression that I am supporting and encouraging her daughter to break her marriage off, so that she can pursue her career. The mother came to me recently and said to me, "I swear by Allah and his Rasool (SAW) you cannot tell my daughter that I have come to you, nor can you tell your parents that I have come to you, but I want you to stop communicating with my daughter as this is ruining her marriage. You also have to inform me if my daughter comes online to chat with you or sends any messages". Mufti Sahib, she did come online, but we did not communicate. Is it permissible to desex a rabbit?
What does Islam say about hunting?

I have just become a Muslim with my childrens' father. We got married but both our parents are non-belivers. Can our children still stay for weekends and spend time with our parents, without my husband or myself being there so long as we tell them what our children can and can not do?
I am 20, male and born Muslim. Until now I am not circumcised. Is it obligatory for me to get circumcised? I am really afraid to do this. If I do not get circumcised, what is the sin that I will be committing?

I would like to find out if it is permissible to do fishing as a sport or for leisure. May Allah reward you.

Is it permissible to use Quranic verses for ring tone?

is there any significance to a Thursday night, in Islam?

Is it permissible for men and women to wear English clothes such as trousers, shirts etc (even though these are the clothes of the non-believers)? I was watching Peace TV the other day and Dr Zakir Naik wears shirt and trousers. They state that in regards to clothing you should not wear clothes that reveal the body (only hands and face can show for women) and should not wear thin/see-through clothes and also not wear clothes of the non-believers. But isn’t pants, shirt etc clothes of the non-believers?
