1) Upon waking up, if a person sees wetness around his private part, how can he know whether it is perspiration or semen, mazi or wadi?
2) I am constantly disturbed by the whisperings of Shaitan. How can I control this?
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1) If the rest of your body perspired during the night then the wetness you see around your private part upon waking up will also be counted as perspiration, unless you are certain or you have strong reasons to believe that the wetness is semen, mazi or wadi. Strong reasons include: remembering having a wet dream, remember being aroused before the sleep, the smell or texture of the wetness not resembling the smell and texture of perspiration, etc. (For more information on mazi, wadi and semen, click here).
2) The cure of whisperings of Shaitan is simply to ignore them. Whenever you get whisperings (waswasa) of Shaitan, think about the power and might of Allah i.e. think about how Allah Ta’ala made the hearts and mind of people such that they contain endless and limitless streams of thought. When Shaitan sees that the whisperings are having the opposite effect on you – i.e. instead of the whisperings driving you away from Allah, they are helping you to come closer to Allah by making you to ponder over His power and might – he will himself stop the whisperings.
Also, whenever you get whisperings, make yourself appear tremendously happy in every way. When Shaitan sees that instead of the whisperings making you sad (that’s what he wants), they are making you happy, he will himself stop the whispering -- as he doesn’t want people to be happy. And since Shaitan does not have knowledge of the unseen, he will not know that you are faking happiness.
And Allah knows best.
