_ We are expecting a baby
soon inshAllah. Can you please check and
confirm if I can name my baby boy as "Mahad", this is one the 99
names of prophet S.A.W. Also, if this name isn't right then we have some other names in mind as below so
please advise:
Abdul Basit Abdul Muheeb Abdul Hadi Mohammad Bilal Mohammad Ali Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
_
“Mahad” was not a name of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).
“Mahd” (مَهْدٍ)is a suitable Arabic name. It means the guided one. “Mahd” is the same as “Mahdi”. Some people claim that “Mahd” was a name of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). However, we could not find a mention of it in the books of hadith. Abdul Baasit (عبد الباسط), Abdul Haadi (عبد الهادي), Muhammad Bilal (محمد بلال) and Muhammad Ali (محمد علي)are valid Islamic names. Abdul Muheeb is not correct. Abdul Mujeeb (عبد المجيب), however, is correct. |
