Question: If a person’s year for his/her Zakat starts and
ends in Safr for example but he/she would like to
give Zakat in Ramadan, when the following Ramadan comes will he/she give the Zakaat for a year and a half to account for the six months
from Safr to Ramadan or how will he/she pay their Zakaat? Answer: بِسْمِ
اللهِ
الرَّحْمنِ
الرَّحِيْم In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. If someone's zakat anniversary is on the first of Safar,
he has to calculate his zakat based on the zakatable
assets in his ownership on the first of Safar. Thereafter, he should pay his
zakat as soon as possible, as there is no guarantee to life and payment of
zakat should not be delayed unnecessarily. However, if he persists to pay
his zakat in Ramadan, he will still have to calculate his zakat based on the zakatable assets in his ownership on the first of Safar. And
