Question:
AssalamuAlaikum,
I have come across a narration stating that when a sinful person constantly begs Allah for forgiveness and tries to atone for the sin by doing good - to the extent that Shaytan says, " I wish I had not made him fall for that sin".
Can you please check and provide a reference for it?
JazakAllahu Khairan

Answer:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Wa `Alaikumussalam Wr Wb,
It is mentioned in ‘Tambihul Ghafilin’, “It has been narrated from some tabieen: Verily a slave commits a sin and remains repentant until he enters Paradise. At that point Shaytan laments, ‘I wish I did not cause him to commit sins.’”*
