Ifta Course - Beginning May 2022
Darul Ifta Australia is delighted to announce that it is offering an ifta course (takhassus fi al-fiqh wa al-ifta) for males , which will begin in May of 2022 (after Ramadan) under the tutelage of Mufti Faizal Riza. The course is a two year programme that trains the students in issuing fatwas in the hanafi madhab.

Become a guide for the Muslims in the deen of Allah SWT
Do you have the zeal, passion and motivation to serve the deen of Allah SWT? Do you have the self-disciplne to commit yourself to a life-long journey of research and learning in order to be able to guide, advise and educate the Muslim community in all aspects of their life: purity, worship, buisiness & transactions, social interaction, diet, marriage, divorce, inheritance, etc ? Do you have the apptitude for paying attention to detail? Are you drawn towards Fiqh? If yes, then you may have what it takes to do this course.
Right now, there is a huge need in the community for muftis endowed with tafaqquh and the the mizaj of our akaabir to guide the ummah in all facets of life.
The grand mufti of Pakistan, Mufti Shafi Usmani (May Allah have have mercy on him) used to say that he chose the field of ifta (issuing fatwas) over the other fields of deen because in this field there is immediate benefit to the mustafti (the one seeking fatwa).
Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "When a person dies, his (means of acquiring) good deeds come to an end except from three (sources): continous charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous child who prays for him". (Tirmidhi, Nasa'i)
Mu'awiyah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "Whomsoever Allah wants to grant goodness, He bestows upon him the understanding of deen". (Bukhari)
Details:
The entry requirement is completion of alim course with high grades, especially in Arabic and Fiqh (Hanafi). Ability to read Urdu is also a requirement, although writing Urdu is not necessary.
Students will need to dedicate 5 hours daily (6 days a week) for the course: 2 hours for classes, 1 hour for individual reading, and 2 hours for research (tamreen al-fatawa, thesis etc).
Students will have access to a library, where they can research and read.
To successfully complete the course, the students will be required to do a significant amount of research and reading. Hence, the applicants must be ready for this committment.
